The Gamma-Phi chapter of Kappa Sigma at WVU held a car bash fundraiser on September 25th, the weekend of the LSU vs. WVU football game. The fundraiser rose over $730 for The Kappa Sigma Military Hero’s Campaign. The Military Hero’s Campaign honors and helps soldiers that were wounded during active duty. Among many other things, it helps provide free housing for soldiers and their families during the rehabilitation process. The car bash was a huge success and all proceeds went to a great cause that supports our troops.
The minivan we used was donated by a local towing business, Vic’s Towing. We had the event right outside the hospital parking lot to get as much attention as we could. Brothers painted the van LSU purple and yellow to make it really standout. Most people didn’t know what we were doing with a painted old van but after we told them what it was for, they jumped right in and donated.
Overall it was huge success and a testament to how hard this chapter has worked. It wouldn’t have been possible without the help of all the brothers that spent countless hours making phone calls, painting the van, and bringing this whole project together.
